Weight Loss Workout Program Myths Sabotage Fat Loss Seekers [herbal slimming]

Swirling weight loss workout program myths are secretly squashing the dreams of most hard working fat loss goal setters without them even knowing so. It is unfortunate, but both the fitness, and fat loss industries are riddled with lies, confusion, and non-evidence based solutions people are desperately relying on, and quickly becoming heartbroken from, says Wellness Word’s exercise physiologist Jim O’Connor. "It is time to fight back, and protect individuals from all of the fitness for fat loss lies, and confusion"

Every January millions of good intentioned people strive to shed their unwanted body fat only to give up after a few weeks from too much work, and too little results. Who is to blame? O’Connor feels both the weight loss workout program, and diet industry are the main culprits in letting people down who desperately need to make a healthy lifestyle change. "Fitness for fat loss infomercials that stretch claims, non-evidence based workout solutions that mutate from person to person, and extreme diets that don’t work quickly cripple results" says O’Connor.

When beginning a fat loss workout it is important for individuals to arm themselves with proven exercise, and nutrition principles that actually work. The goal should be maximum fat burning results in the shortest possible time, as well as preserving lifelong health. O’Connor feels only a researched, evidence based approach is a valid solution.

In order to increase the success of reaching any weight loss workout program goal it is important that fat loss participants not trust any old system they come in contact with, but to do their due diligence by researching, or consulting with a qualified professional who can guide them in the proper direction. If not, there is a good chance these good intentioned individuals will become heart broken, and disappointingly never realize the fat loss results they desire.

The women in the MOS group showed less of a change [herbal slimming]

The women in the MOS group showed less of a change

The women in the MOS group showed less of a change, showing only a 4 percent reduction in total body volume and 4 percent reduction total body fat. These results were not that different than the women in the placebo group, who had a 1 percent decrease in volume and 3 percent decrease in fat.

St. Onge and her team speculated that the difference in the results for different genders comes from inherent metabolic differences between men and women. Men tend to burn fat faster, and women tend to store fat in their bodies more efficiently.Mannooligosaccharide is a specific kind of indigestible carbohydrate called a prebiotic. Prebiotics are chemicals that are indigestible to humans, but not to the microorganisms that live in our GI tract. On Nutrition: Beware of the hCG diet

Some by-products of the microorganisms eating the prebiotics are a form of fatty acid called short-chain fatty acids, which are thought to directly nourish cells in the intestinal walls.

MOS can be extracted from spent coffee ground and then isolated and purified. There are currently no commercially available MOS supplements on the market, but regular coffee does contain small amounts of this compound.

This study was completed in the winter of 2010 and is published in the February 2012 issue of Obesity. Kraft Foods provided both the funding and the coffee for this study. Two of the four researchers were Kraft Foods employees.

Not only was weight-loss found to be contagious in the study [herbal slimming]

Not only was weight-loss found to be contagious in the study, but it was also found to be boosted by competition. There was inter-team competition in Shape Up, and there are data from previous studies suggesting that such an approach may enhance weight-loss teams working together to reach a common goal and 'beat' other teams to be the 'biggest loser' can bolster weight outcomes," Leahey says.Other interesting results? Team leaders were the most successful at losing weight, and team demographics, such as gender and age, didn't really matter, Leahey says.

"Individuals who were trying to lose weight but were on teams with teammates that were more focused on increasing physical activity and not weight-loss didn't do as well — so it helps to have a common goal," she says. While more research is needed and Leahey is currently working on a follow-up study — you can start putting this new information into use today by getting together everyone you know who wants to lose weight or get healthy.

"Contact friends, family and colleagues who are all motivated and serious about weight loss," she says. "Set weight-loss goals with one another, encourage each other and hold each other accountable by making exercise 'appointments' with each other and periodically sharing weight-loss progress."

In other words, catch the healthy living bug by surrounding yourself with others who have it, too! Do you think weight-loss and healthy behaviors are contagious? Share your thoughts!

Weight loss special offer for SL viewers [herbal slimming]

We all know the obvious factors for being overweight: wrong foods, overeating, lack of exercise, and genetics. However, we have recently found that there are several scientific reasons why obese people can't lose weight.

Modern medicine has been trying to find a cure for obesity since the turn of the last century. We at Regenesis believe that the answer is in the cell. Now we know the rest of the story. It's the increase of Insulin and Leptin levels in the bloodstream. It appears that most of our patients are either Insulin resistant, meaning they have too much Insulin which spikes causing fat to be increased. Also we found that the powerful hormone called Leptin in excess in the bloodstream will not only cause increased fat cells but also will not allow the brain to shut off the urge to eat.

Is there any help for these resistant people?
Yes, we at Regenesis with the help of two large pharmaceutical companies have formulated supplements to fight Insulin and Leptin resistance. Not only have these products allowed our patients to lose weight and keep it off, but have also lowered dangerously high triglyceride, LDL (bad) cholesterol levels while raising HDL (good ) cholesterol levels, WITHOUT SIDE EFFECTS since these are not chemicals, but natural occurring substances.

Are you still using HCG for weight loss?
Yes, we are, and have improved the formula to include an energy booster which helps with the fatigue associated with the 500 calorie restriction. We call our new product Re Gen. We still think that losing this kind of weight quickly is important and will continue to use Re Gen as an integrated part of our overall program.

Research has long suggested that the repeal of ‘Don’t Ask [herbal slimming]

Research has long suggested that the repeal of ‘Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell’ would have no negative impact on military readiness,” says Aaron Belkin, director of the Palm Center. ”Now, our job is to use research to highlight and address remaining issues such as the service of transgender troops.”

New York also became the newest state to legalize same-sex marriage this year. During the marriage debate in New York, it was estimated that the state would enjoy more than $100 million in new wedding spending in the first year alone. Other research on the state budget impact of marriage or civil unions informed debates that led to passage of civil unions in both nearby Delaware and Rhode Island.

Data from the 2010 Decennial Census was also reported during the summer. It revealed that 132,000 (20 percent) of the nearly 650,000 same-sex couples in the U.S. identified as spouses. More than one in six same-sex couples (17 percent) were raising children, but childrearing was more common among couples who identified as spouses (31 percent) compared to unmarried partners (14 percent).

A new report also found that 3.8 percent of adults self-identify as LGBT, 8.2 percent have engaged in same-sex sexual behavior, and 11 percent report same-sex attraction. The data challenges the common perception that 10 percent of the general population is LGBT.

Understanding the nuances of the community also impacted international relations this year, as the Obama administration promised that aid would be based on human rights policies globally. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton also gave an important speech about LGBT rights being “human rights” during a U.N. event.

There are ways to address these issues [herbal slimming]

There are ways to address these issues. One is to enhance medical school and medical residency curricula in these areas. That struggle is underway all around the country. Another is to deliver relevant material in time-honored ways, such as textbooks. Yet another is interactive on-line training specific to weight management in clinical practice, and incentivized with continuing medical education credits. CME credits are required to maintain medical licensure, and thus serve as a potent goad.

But even if all of this were to move forward in tandem, physicians would still be struggling to allocate time to weight management counseling and away from other matters. The solution to this is for physicians to initiate the counseling, and then defer to others better suited to address the details. Dietitians are the obvious choice. In some cases, health coaches could play this role as well. But for this strategy to work, there would need to be reimbursement for that counseling as well.

How To Avoid Holiday Weight Gain, is for clinicians to be able to direct patients into well-established weight management programs. There is a lot to a comprehensive weight management program, and it's unlikely that even a highly skilled and motivated physician could address all of this on his or her own. Two very compelling recent studies (1, 2) suggest that Weight Watchers does a far better job at this than primary care -- so linking the two is attractive. But again, the reimbursement model does not yet correspond.

Another challenging issue is the linkage of reimbursement to outcomes. On the one hand, it is quite appropriate to ensure that we are "getting what we are paying for." And of course, we are paying -- since ultimately, Medicare and Medicaid resources derive from taxpayers. We should all want to know that counseling is actually working.

Wisconsin Milk Marketing Board removes weight loss claims from website [herbal slimming]

The Wisconsin Milk Marketing Board has retreated from claims that consuming dairy products could aid weight loss after some experts branded the statements “deceptive” and “discredited.”

The state-supervised board, which is funded by dairy farmers, removed multiple claims about dairy’s role in weight loss and weight maintenance from its website early this week after the Wisconsin Center for Investigative Journalism began publishing stories examining the board’s nutritional advice to consumers.Over the past few weeks, we have reviewed some of the nutrition messages and have made some changes to closer align our weight control message with the healthy diet message,” Patrick Geoghegan, the board’s senior vice president for communications, wrote Tuesday night in an email interview.

The board’s weight loss claims had been on the website for at least eight months, since a University of Wisconsin-Madison journalism class began investigating the milk board in collaboration with the Center.State law prohibits Wisconsin’s seven nonprofit agricultural marketing boards from making “false or unwarranted claims” about their products. The state Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection supervises the boards, and has not filed a complaint about them with the state Department of Justice in at least 15 years, as the Center reported Monday.

In an earlier email interview, department of agriculture employee Noel Favia, who works with the boards, said the milk board had “never made claims that weren’t substantiated with scientific evidence. But Stephen Gardner, litigation director for the Washington, D.C.-based Center for Science in the Public Interest, had reviewed the board’s weight loss claims at the Center’s request, along with 17 recent studies on dairy products and body weight. Gardner concluded the claims were “deceptive under Wisconsin law.”The Center also interviewed nutrition experts at Harvard University and the Mayo Clinic, who pointed to limitations in the studies supporting the milk board’s claims.

Even Food Network getting back to basics [herbal slimming]

A couple of weeks ago, I had the good fortune to make one of my dreams come true. No, I didn’t meet George Clooney, but almost as good, I attended the Food Network Wine and Food Festival in New York City.

You may or may not know that I love to cook. I always strive to find creative ways to make healthy meals that everyone loves. At this festival, I walked away with so many ideas, I couldn’t wait to get back home and give some a try. But the most important thing I walked away with is the reminder that getting back to basics with cooking, may be the best way to create a healthy, satisfying meal. It’s funny, (or not) that our society has become so diet obsessed that many have forgotten how to eat or even cook real food. People are so caught up in fat-free, calorie-free, gluten-free, carb-free and so on, that basic foods (not found in a box) have almost become extinct. If you look back a couple of generations, the food our grandparents ate likely contained half the calories, sodium and fat than the foods we eat today. Mainly because of portion size!

When I was little, snacking was a rare treat. We never ate fast-food and seldom did we have boxed or frozen foods in our house. My mother cooked from scratch, and we all ate it, whether we liked it or not.As I walked through the aisles of the festival, I discovered that a lot of the chefs are also getting back to basics with cooking. They are opting to buy their produce locally (less carbon imprint) and making incredible meals from various foods we can easily find at our local grocery store or farm stand. I believe that if we just get back to basics with the foods we choose, the prevalence of obesity and disease could be reduced.

In addition to eating “real” food to improve our health, I believe getting back in the kitchen and cooking meals at home does a lot to improve family relationships. There’s nothing like cooking a meal together with your kids, or sitting down as a family and having a conversation. Sure, I know people are busy, I too worked full time and raised four children, but most days of the week, I cooked dinner. Granted, I love to cook, but I just knew that the nutrition my family was getting could never be duplicated by carry-out food.If you’re not crazy about cooking, or worry that time is going to be a challenge, here are some tips that may help you get back to basics and better health.

Many Unaware of Plastic Surgery Options After Weight Loss Procedures [herbal slimming]

Most of the 220,000 people who undergo weight loss surgery every year are not aware of the follow-up procedures they could have to remove any loose skin they may have, according to a new study by plastic surgeons.

However, not all patients who undergo so-called bariatric weight reduction surgery need a cosmetic procedure after their dramatic weight loss, said one doctor who's an obesity expert.Researchers from the American Society of Plastic Surgeons said that although 75 percent of bariatric patients don't know about body contouring, many might choose to have this plastic surgery if they were fully informed of their options.

"Bariatric surgery isn't just a commitment to weight loss. It often requires body contouring surgeries to help the patient's skin fit their new body," the study's lead author, Dr. Jason Spector, ASPS Member Surgeon, said in a society news release. "Many massive weight loss patients suffer large amounts of loose, sagging skin as a result of their rapid weight loss that, if not removed, can cause rashes, wounds, infection, and limit comfortable mobility. It is apparent that insufficient counseling at the time of bariatric surgery is obscuring viable body contouring options for these patients."

The study included 284 patients who had had weight loss surgery. The researchers found that only 25 percent had discussed body contouring procedures with their bariatric surgeon before or after surgery.
